Recently I received a package from some friends across the pond, and while the shipping box was nothing special–clad in a typical DHL label–the prize within contained a large white envelope addressed to me in beautiful blue-inked handwriting. There’s something so lovely and personal about seeing your name spelled out in unique, imperfect penmanship that simply can’t be expressed with even the quirkiest of typefaces. I was so impressed I snapped a photo!
And now that the holidays are here and it’s time to send out party invitations, I figure I have two options. I can go the Facebook route and mass-invite all my treasured friends and family members using no more effort than a couple of keystrokes. OR! I can spend a little time personalizing each envelope by writing out my loved ones’ names in thoughtful fancy calligraphy! I think you know, fellow crafters, which road to take here.
