Matchy matchy! Back in May last year, we fell in love with Martin Storey’s Tulip Fingerless Gloves, one of 25 projects found in his delightful book, Floral Knits: 25 Contemporary Flower-Inspired Designs. We gave you the pattern as a free download. We realized then and still believe now that these brilliant fingerless gloves are an all-season accessory, just as perfectly at home accompanying a bright camisole on a Spring day as they are providing an extra (albeit stylish, feminine, and flattering) layer of warmth during frostier times–like now, on this exceptionally windy and nippitty NYC Friday night. So we’re offering the matching Tulip Beret as this FRIDAY’S FREE PATTERN DOWNLOAD.
And come back on Sunday–when we start our Sunday Goodreads Giveaway, and you can enter for a chance to win one of 20 copies of Floral Knits! If you simply can’t wait, it’s available now at your favorite bookseller:

Happy Friday, Crafters!
It has been absolute bonkers weather this week. In the 30s one day, pouring rain another, and now it’s 75°F and sunny! That made choosing this Freebie Friday’s FREE PATTERN rather difficult, but I think you’ll be pleased with the result! These absolutely adorable knit fingerless gloves have flowers on them making them perfect for a freezing day in May (and you know that’s bound to happen).
You can find these fingerless gloves and other fun floral knits in Martin Storey’s new knitting book, Floral Knits coming to bookstores on Tuesday, May 6th!
Inspired by lush garden flowers there are 25 gorgeous knitted garments and accessories from top Rowan designer Martin Storey. The projects offer a mix of designs, some with applied flowers and others with floral designs knitted into them, others with the designs embroidered on top. The wearables range from sweaters, boleros and shrugs to scarves, bags, and berets. There is also a small bouquet of delightful home accessory projects, like cushions and throws so you can also festoon your home with spring blooms. Photographed on location, the stunning full-color pictures are fresh and pretty, and the styles are right in tune with current fashion trends. All the projects are made with yarn from Rowan, some of the bestselling yarn in the country.
Keep cool! Or maybe warm? Who knows – either way you’ll be stylish and crafty!
